[Oswald rears back a bit, scowling a bit, looking a little put out] Maybe I like it up here!

And you didn't answer my question!

[enigmaster]

Maybe I'll answer your question if you come down here so I don't have to keep shouting at you!

I can start throwing more things!

Maybe you should answer my question and then I'll come down! [he does roll his eyes, though, dramatically, pointedly] Oooooh, you're going to throw things at me, I'm so scared.

[Edward doesn't answer. He just looks around, spots another empty can and throws it up.

This time he's aiming for you, Oswald.]

[Oswald barely sees the can in time--and squawks, actually squawks, barely ducking out of the way in time--before he's back at the railing, glaring down] Hey--cut that out!

[enigmaster]

Make me! [It's an alley, there's plenty of trash, HE HAS A LOT OF AMMO. HE THROWS ANOTHER CAN.]

[Oswald tries ducking again--this one hits him in the shoulder] Edward--! [he's going to bend down to scoop up that can and just...throw it back down. His aim is not nearly as good] Answer my question!

[enigmaster]

[Edward watches the can land harmlessly on the ground and he smirks as he looks up.] Well, with such a terrible assault coming my way, how could I not? OH WAIT. EASILY!

[Oswald's face screws up into something very pissed off]

Come up here and say that, you walking, talking string bean!

[enigmaster]

Oh, I'm sorry, what was that? I didn't catch that! [HEY GUESS WHAT ANOTHER THROW.] But then I guess you'd know that feeling!

[this time he sees it coming and jerks his cane up into his hand, swinging it like a baseball bat and hitting the can with enough force to have it slam into the other wall of the alley and....fall five stories to the ground--and Oswald has a moment to be surprised, before he leans back over the railing, triumphant.] Ha!

[Edward blinks. Scowls slightly, but covers it with a smirk.]

Yes, well done! I'm sure the ground is very impressed!

[That was actually pretty good but like hell he's gonna give Oswald that one.]

[and thus Oswald's triumphant expression transforms back into that petulant, childish face] Well--good! It should be! Next one will be aimed for your head!

[Edward turns, slowly. And comes face to face with a certain young man.]

["...Do I even want to know what's going on here?"]

[Oh. There's someone else here now. And Oswald's mouth pinches into annoyance, and he leans on the railing] No, because it's none of your business! [he makes a little "shoo"ing motion with his hand] So mind your own and move along, now.

[enigmaster]

[Edward drops the can, immediately turning to look back up at Oswald and shaking his head.

"Really. 'Cause it seems like you two are causing a public disturbance and someone should do something."]

What, us? No, no, certainly not! [Edward laughs a little nervously.] We... were just... leaving.

[Oswald's annoyed expression falters, dropping into confusion at the shake of Edward's head, then back into confused annoyance, edging haughty--though he does start to descend the fire escape] Should someone do something? Gotham has constant public disturbances in practically every corner of the city, and I sincerely doubt ours is the most disturbing. Not that it's your job to quell them, I expect. Considering you don't look like the GCPD, what with such an...interesting...[YEAH THAT "INTERESTING" WAS RATHER SCORNFUL] outfit on. [he's about two floors down from the ground, now]

[Edward puts his head in his hand. Lord give him strength.

"Yeah, see, here's the thing. Generally disturbances don't involve wanted fugitives." Robin looks directly at Edward as he says that.]

Technically...! [Edward keeps facepalming as he speaks.] Technically, I have done nothing illegal.

["I mentioned the wanted part, didn't I? Pretty sure I did."]

Oh, honestly now...! I've done nothing to you!

["Uh, remember when you kidnapped me?"]

[Up until this man mentions wanted fugitives, Oswald was prepared to shoo this interloper off with a slap on the wrist. However, as he and Edward continue their going back and forth, he's descending the rest of the fire escape at a much more rapid pace, any and all brattiness or levity gone from his face as he approaches, stepping up behind whoever this person is who essentially just threatened to send Edward back to Arkham and pulling the pistol he has tucked into a side holster, pressing the barrel to the back of his head and pulling back the hammer]

I think it's time for you to leave.

[and that is no longer Oswald yelling at Edward from a fire escape, but the Penguin, dealing with a threat to what's his.]

[Edward and Robin both go quiet as that happens. Edward... looks up at the sky a moment, pondering his life choices.] Jesus Christ... [Robin just stares straight ahead. "You really don't want to do this, pal."]
