I-- [Edward sputters and, having no idea how to respond to that - because really, Oswald? - just ends up putting his head on Oswald's shoulder. The one way he could see to hide his face.] Shut up.

[he can't help but laugh in response, lifting a hand to rest on the back of Edward's neck]

I'm simply stating the truth, Edward. [it's that tone of voice that says he knows exactly what he's doing and he's delighted to have the upper hand]

I cannot stress enough how much you can't go knife Batman.

People haven't exactly had a lot of luck going up against him. ...Myself included.

[...yeah okay that's enough to quiet his indignation; Edward admitting to such a thing. And after a moment, he huffs out a small sigh and tilts his head to lean against Edward's] ....alright, I won't knife Batman.

Thank you. ...Not that I don't get it. I'm right there with you, honestly, but it's. You know. Complicated.

I know. It's...annoying. [back to sounding sulky because he would just really really really like to knife Batman]

Try putting him in death traps for years. Annoying is... a major understatement.

I've wanted to kill him since he broke your arm, Edward, and haven't been able to. Believe me, I understand. [he has such a deep sincere hatred for Batman it's amazing]

[He hadn't really considered that much. He remembers, that first time the Bat had caught him, but he'd been... out of it.]

He's a brute and should be taken out and shot like one. [his hand fists a little bit in the shirt at the small of Edward's back--there's definitely that some hint of violence in his tone that he used with Robin earlier.]

[Edward just... gently puts his arms a little more around Oswald. Not saying anything, just... trying to get Oswald to calm down a little. ...But also appreciating the force of how much Oswald cares about him that he's this angry on Edward's behalf.]
