[Edward nods quietly. Leaning his head against Oswald's shoulder.] ...Thanks. [Because he didn't think Oswald would, but he needs to know, for sure.] I think... I think the professors would get the wrong idea-- I mean, they do... already. So... [He doesn't want them making a thing out of this. Any more than it already is, now.]

So it'll be our secret. [Oswald tilts his head a bit, resting against the crown of Edward's] Just you 'n me. I won't tell anyone.

[enigmaster]

Okay.

[Edward lets out a shaky breath. Trying... not to break, then and there.]

[agoodname]

You're my best friend, Edward. [he lets out a small huff of air, a small sigh] I'd do anything for you, y'know?

[enigmaster]

Yeah. [Best friends. And that means something. It means a lot, he reminds himself. Sometimes he forgets, in moments like this.] I mean, same here. Obviously. [He'd do anything for Oswald, too.]

[he can't help but smile a little, at that, despite the situation] Obviously~

Except doing your homework for you. [He chuckles. A little weakly, but no less sincere.] Just in case you start getting ideas.

Wh--hey! [it's a protest] I may not be a genius like you, but I can do my homework. [false sulky]

[enigmaster]

Well, good, then we don't have a problem. I'm just saying.

We've never had that problem, jeez. [he huffs, indignant]

I want you to remember saying that, next time Professor Binns assigns us all yet another essay about eighteenth century magical politics.

It's not my fault he's so boring. [muttered, a bit sulky] How can anyone not fall asleep in his class?

[enigmaster]

I seem to manage just fine.

[agoodname]

That is some kind of super power. You're the only one who doesn't!

[enigmaster]

[He shrugs, laughing a little.]

Well, it's interesting?

[agoodname]

The subject, sure. But not the way Binns presents it. [:/]

[enigmaster]

He might be trying to kill his students with boredom. Then the class would be full of ghosts just like him.

Imagine that. History of Magic for the rest of eternity.

[agoodname]

Ugh don't. That's the worst possible outcome.

[enigmaster]

[Edward just laughs. It's not loud, but he sounds a little more lively, now. It's a big improvement, compared to the start of this conversation.]

[Oh. That's good. That's better. The corner of Oswald's mouth quirks at that, and he smiles]

Only you would be okay with that sort of thing. Stuck in a classroom forever.

[enigmaster]

I'd pick a different one, though. Maybe this one. [He looks up a little, looking around the Astronomy Tower.] Lots of stars to look at forever. I mean, even I'd get tired of Professor Binns' droning.

It is pretty nice up here. We could make a ghost pillow fort or something.

[enigmaster]

Sounds like a good time.

[He goes... slightly quiet again, though trying to keep his voice light.]

I definitely wouldn't mind just... staying here, I think. There's worse places to be.

[Like home.]

....yeah. I can think of a couple.

[enigmaster]

[Edward doesn't say anything, for a little bit. Then he checks his watch.]

...I have Arithmancy in about half an hour. [...] But I'm thinking I might just... skip it.

[Which is something that Edward would usually never say.]
