"Heh, ah- yes, that'd be exactly why you're getting chocolate from everyone. Valentine's is a day of love! But girls also give things to their friends and so forth, too!" She grins. "I figured as Student Council President, I should give something to everyone while I still am!"
There's a beat and a pause, and she leans forward, that grin widening. "Ah, but that's not all. Those people that a girl finds extra super special are supposed to get the best presents! I'm sure Makopi has plenty of secret and not-so-secret admirers, so I bet a lot of them are those~"
no subject
Well, no, that's probably not realistic. But she hopes that her known status as very much not from here means people will understand the issues... though she still feels a little bad.
"Admirers?" Makoto hums to herself in thought. "Hmm, I did get a lot of mail, come to think of it. I haven't really had much happen in school, though. Just a lot of people staring at me."
That'd be those poor souls trying to work up the courage to approach her and failing. Not that she's all that aware of that.
"Ha... But of course you're handing out things to everyone. You don't know how not to give it your all, do you?"
no subject
Honestly, she's sure that the people staring at her and working up their courage is something that happens a lot more than might be noticed. Mana was once one of those hapless fangirls, remember.
She grins even wider at that last part, seeing opportunity and clasps her hands together. "Nope, sure don't! Besides, after everything I've got even more people looking at us... so I figure that just means I need to keep it up even more! Buuuuut..." She holds up one finger. "Just because I'm doing that doesn't mean I'm forgetting about the people who deserve that something extra super special."
no subject
Perhaps not Mana-levels of all out, but there are few who can really match that.
"...Extra super special? Just how special is that?" From the perspective of someone like Mana? Ah. Worrying.
no subject
She reaches out for Makoto's arm and starts trying to drag her elsewhere, grinning. "There's only one way for you to find that one out!"
no subject
The important question here is why she still questions when Mana does these things.
no subject
"Yup! Don't worry, this'll only take a minute!"
True to her word, it did not take long for her to arrive at the student council office, which she promptly throws the door open to... before releasing Makoto, slipping in, and closing it quickly. A moment passes before she slides it back open and pokes her head out. "Just gotta give me one moment! No peeking, okay?"
And... there she goes again. Leaving Makoto, for at least a second, to her own devices in the hallway.
no subject
Aaaaaand she's gone. Makoto sighs, but of course she remains rooted in place. Mana asked her to wait, so she'll wait. Even as sudden as this all is, though, she can't help but smile a little to herself. That girl really goes at her own pace... much faster than everyone else. Maybe one day she'll learn how to match it.
Well. Nothing to do but wait.
no subject
"TA-DA~!"
In one other hand, is a package not unlike the ones she's been passing out all day, but notably larger. It's a purple wrapping, tied together with an also purple bow very neatly, and tucked in that ribbon is a - you guessed it - purple flower.
"Presenting Makopi's ultra super special home made Valentine's gift!"
no subject
That's Makoto's first intelligent response, as Mana is suddenly in her face again. It actually takes a moment more for her to realize what Mana is actually holding and that...
Oh.
"Ah-- Hah, really?" No, actually, it's Mana, this should have been expected. Always going the extra mile to make people happy. "You really worked hard to get the colors right, huh?"
She giggles a little bit. "You're too thoughtful sometimes."
no subject
"Of course, really! But it's not a problem!" She grins from ear to ear. "After everything that's happened, and the last year... I wanted to do something special! Besides, this is just about the last new holiday you'll see here..." She moves to place the package in Makoto's hands. "It needed to be special!"
Especially given that things around them were rapidly changing. The whole world was looking at them now, the Trump Kingdom was being completely renovated, Mana wouldn't even be student council president in a couple months anymore. Makoto was... free to basically do whatever she wanted now, on the other hand. Mana wanted to give her a good memory.
Especially after all the bad ones of late.
no subject
"...I'm definitely giving you something special next time." Makoto nods to herself, coming to a decision. "Count on it."
Well, when someone like Makoto says that, you know it's serious. Because she's always serious. Just wait until she finds out about White Day. But that determined expression softens then and she looks at the package.
"Ah, should I just..."
Right, she supposes she shouldn't just stare at it, huh?
no subject
"Ah, a gift from a famous idol?" She grins. "Most people would be jealous! A year ago, that would've made me think I'd died and gone to heaven!"
She's joking only slightly. Knowing the real Makoto eventually toned down Mana's rampant fangirling a significant enough degree. It sort of had to, or their team never would've been even remotely functional.
Not that she wasn't still a fangirl, in her own way.
Regardless, she beams at the comment, motioning to the package. "It's up to you! But I put a lot of work into that chocolate, so I hope you can take time enjoy it, at least!"
no subject
But there's a thoughtful pause, as Makoto considers this. Well...
"...Are you done handing out chocolate for today? I'm guessing you've been running around a lot."
no subject
She gives a quick blink then, and laughs a bit.
"Ah, yeah - I think I am! I had to go out super early to get Alice and Aguri-chan theirs, you were the last one I was able to pin down...!" She gives a wide smile. "It's totally worth it, though!"
no subject
(Because we all know that's Rikka's job.)
"Good. Then you can sit down with me."
no subject
She tilts her head to one side though.
"Sit down?" she asks, as if it's a foreign concept.
no subject
...
Makoto pokes Mana right in the forehead.
"You still know how to do things other than rush ahead, don't you?"
no subject
"Ah.. yeah, I know..." She may have, ah. Not emphasized everything she did to Rikka so as not to get an earful. Just a suspicious look. "B- but, this is a special occasion! Honest! I've been trying to do a little better!"
She coughs into her hand. "But... thanks for looking out, Makopi. Really! I'll ... take a rest." A little one.
Even if she is starting to feel exhausted...
no subject
Yes, she is using Mana's overachieving against her. Don't think she's above such a thing.
"Good. Right now. We can both take a break." In fact, let's take a seat right now. There's probably a good spot here. "And we can both have some chocolate."
no subject
"Are-- you telling me to overachieve at not overachieving?"
The words make her head spin a little as she says them, but she sighs a little and wanders back into the student council room, flopping down in a chair. Boy, when was the last time she sat down?
"I mean, sure! But I don't want to eat up the chocolate I made for you, either!"
no subject
"Hmmm. Is that beyond your ability?" She hums a little. "I'm almost disappointed."
Wow, she's not letting up on this. And then she shakes her head at what Mana says next. Honestly, this girl. She's lucky she's so lovable.
"Everything tastes better when you're sharing it with a friend. Isn't that the sort of thing you usually say?"
no subject
"It's... not!" she insists. Weakly. "Gosh, that sounds like something I'd expect from Rikka...!"
She lets out a breath, but doesn't fight back. "Well... okay. I do want you to enjoy them." She is exactly right though - it is precisely like something Mana would say.
no subject
Makoto laughs a little and starts to get the chocolate ready. "Good. Consider it an idol's special request."
no subject
Which is frequent enough as it is.
"You really know how to twist a girl's arm," she says, although it's light and meant as a joke. Though it was also true. Makoto had her number, here. "What self respecting fangirl could say no to that, hm?"
